Lowery's swearing-in set for 3:30 p.m.

Interim mayor Myron Lowery will be sworn in this afternoon in the Hall of Mayors at 3:30 p.m.

Lowey arrived at City Hall this morning just after 8 a.m., after working until late last night on the city's storm response. Lowery began getting updates and overseeing storm response before he officially took over as mayor just after midnight.

Damn, he couldn't even wait until Willie's desk chair was cold.......Myron Lowery as mayor.....ewww....are the 90 days up yet? Bring on A.C!!!!!!

At least Mayor Lowery cares enough to be interested in a storm response. Former (that makes me SOOO happy to say) Mayor Herenton didn't give a damn about anyone.

At least we have a Mayor now that WANTS to be mayor.

Myron short chubby self is so giddy to be interim mayor until it's pathetic. It shows in the way he acts....What idiot would be trying to get sworn in as mayor when Memphis was experiencing severe weather?

Mayor Lowery??? (lol) Never......always Myron. Don't get me wrong I am thrilled that Herenton is gone but, as for accepting Lowery as mayor (I don't think so) but feel free to keep the seat warm for AC when he takes over.
