Memphis mayoral candidate Kenneth Whalum Jr. wasted no time on the campaign trail on Labor Day. Starting at 11 a.m., he and a caravan of as many as 50 cars hit up parks around the city.
At a Manassas High School reunion and picnic at the Bickford Community Center in North Memphis, Whalum was approached by a 57-year-old sanitation worker, who did not want to be named. The sanitation worker said his division was badly in need of new and safer trucks. He asked Whalum what he'd do for sanitation workers if elected.
"I'll help you get benefits... one of the top priorities is to make sure you get benefits," Whalum said. "I will also help you file a lawsuit. It's not safe to have no trucks and faulty trucks."
So, the first thing Mr. Whalum does while campaigning for Mayor is to pledge to sue the city if he is elected. This man is going to make Herenton look stable, wise and contemplative.
So the "Reverend" needs a 50-car "entourage" even BEFORE the election? Godamighty. Imagine the "entourage" he'd hire if he were elected !
Never vote for a lawyer or a "Reverend".
The man didn't ask for benefits.He asked for safer trucks and
new equiptment.Rev Whalum is out of limits for himself.He claims to know god,but what proof does he have to show he is the candidate to elect other than having a church entourage.
This man can not be taken seriously.He offers to sue his employer if he's elected.Why sue,why not work the problem out.
Carol Chumney would take care of this problem and the Sanatation workers would have better equitment without suing the city.
how can the "reverend" say he will help "file a law suit"? this is clearly a "come-on", so those, who want to earn money the old fashioned way (sue, sue, sue) have an avenue to accomplish this. no better way to gain peoples' support than to volunteer to sue for them. holy law suit! that's just what is needed! another idiot to offer to sue and get some money for someone. really "solid" platform!!~!!! this takes me beyond speechless and furious
Whalum on statements illustrate that he is not qualified to lead the City of Memphis! He is not a serious candidate!!!
Whalum is an embarassment to anyone with a brain. Someone please: Notify LAKESIDE Hospital and commit the nut.
50 cars? What, no buses available? I heard the dude was handing out moonpies along with bogus promises of more "benefits".
Well, i'll say this. Whalum is hitting the streets like a maniac, and is running a really good street level campaign so far. Alot of other candidates should take note, he's going to get more votes than people think.
My outlook list of contacts are empty and I am trying to transfer my contacts from my iphone to outlook but every time I do it it clears the Iphone contacts ( taking the outlook the primary source)...
